As part of its efforts to offer the best of services to the business community and to enhance their communication with the various business councils, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a Corporate Majlis on the sidelines of the first Dubai Chamber Ramadan Festival running at Dubai World Trade Centre, throughout the Holy Month. The Corporate Majlis in its entirety is providing an ideal platform for an increasing number of representatives from different business groups and councils to network with business associates and new comers during the Iftar and Suhoor get-togathers.In light of the Corporate Majlis which receives a large number of delegates and their guests daily, Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber, stated that the Chamber came up with this innovative idea of providing yet another platform for the business community to network and build up new alliances during Ramadan. This initiative also highlights Dubai Chamber’s year-long efforts that look at creating new business networking opportunities for its vast network of stakeholders.Buamim further stressed that the purpose of the Ramadan Festival is of course to promote communications between individual businesses and the various business councils and groups as well as to involve them into social causes during the Holy Month. The idea here is also to fulfil the Chamber’s commitment towards responsible business by supporting the local community in their wellbeing and humanitarian causes, he said. The month-long Dubai Chamber Ramadan Festival is a first and one of a kind business and social networking event which is attracting all sections of society for its sports, cultural and entertainment activities. The event is organised in collaboration with Duplays, Ignite Fitness, the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, Adopt-a-Camp and Nucleus Healthcare Consultants. The Festival also hosts a number of sporting events including football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis tournaments besides a series of lectures about health and nutrition, as well as religious talks about understanding Ramadan and the objectives of fasting during its month-long schedule of activities.A presentation about the Dubai-based Adopt-a-Camp charity initiative, supported by Dubai Chamber, will be held on the sidelines of the Festival on Thursday, August 18 at the venue. Saher Shaikh, the founder of the initiative, will touch upon the topic of the difficulties faced by UAE labourers in their daily lives and what can be done to improve their lifestyles. Volunteers will be packing energy food, toiletries as well as essential items like socks, towels and steel plates to be distributed in labour camps. The Dubai Chamber Ramadan Festival, which runs alongside Dubai Sports World, a new indoor sporting initiative organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre encourages children and young people to participate in various sports activities.
