The Presidential Council on National Branding in Korea and Hyundai Motor Company have launched a “New Thinking-New Korea” brand expedition among youth groups all over the world. Through the campaign, selected young people will undertake a four-day tour of Korea, either in September or October. The Doha briefing on the event took place at the embassy of South Korea yesterday. The project entails an international group travelling in a region in South Korea and producing creative works on the subjects that inspire each of the members from the trip. On the trip, the participants will spread their works through online tools like weblogs and help international audiences discover new aspects of Korea. Approximately 180 people aged 18 and above, half of them Koreans, will participate in the programme. The participants will attend orientations and workshops in August on content creation and get instructions on content production, establish travel and exploration plans within each group and create plans for the content. They will spend three nights and four days in September or October, depending on the region in Korea. All expenses in Korea will be borne by the organisers, including lodging, transportation and food. Applications close on July 31 and the interviews of the candidates will be held on August 9 and 10. The successful candidates’ list will be announced on August 12. The successful candidates will be informed individually and results will be posted on koreabrand.net. Applications in English or Korean can be mailed to ntnk@koreabrand.go.kr. Admission details and application forms are available for download at websites of the council (www.koreabrand.go.kr) and Young Hyundai Motors (yopung.hyundai.com).
