The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) fell 0.73 percent yesterday. The index slipped in the negative territory earlier yesterday, traded below the break-even line throughout the session to close lower at 6,834.77 points, shedding 50.5 points. It wavered within a range of 67 points. Only Small cap among market cap indices closed the day in green. Sector indices performed in a mixed fashion, with five sectors accumulating an aggregate of 167.79 points. Remaining 10 sectors ended in red, paring 567.78 points collectively. Industrial Investment advanced 2.02 percent over the day, posting the biggest gains among all sectors. Transport sector, on the other hand, recorded the biggest losses, down by 2.66 percent. Top ten heavy weights closed in red, with Riyad Bank dipping by 2.42 percent and Saudi Telecom 2.28 percent. Only, Saudi Electricity Co. closed higher, rising by 0.38 percent. The market breadth was slightly negative with 71 stocks witnessing declines against 66 stocks witnessing advances. Insurance stocks topped the gainers and losers charts at Tadawul. Gulf General Insurance made the biggest jump up 10 percent among all Saudi equities. The biggest loser of the day was Enaya Insurance (down 9.76 percent). Share trading activity remained low as compared to previous day; turnover went down by 24.5 percent in terms of volume and 15 percent in terms of value. The volume chart was led by Mobile Telecommunications (ZAIN) with trades of over 63.2 million shares. While, Alinma Bank liquidated SR514.2 million at Tadawul and remained the most active stock on value basis.
