U.S. stocks were lower Monday on concerns about second-quarter earnings and the European Union debt crisis, In midmorning trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 46.28 points, 0.36 percent, to 12,726.19 The Nasdaq composite index lost 6.97 points, 0.24 percent, to 2,930.36. The S&P 500 shed 3.68 points, 0.27 percent, to 1,351. The 10-year benchmark treasury note yielded 1.54 percent. The euro was $1.2298 from Friday\'s $1.2299. Against the yen, the dollar was 79.63 yen from 79.66 yen. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index gave up 1.37 percent, 123.87 points, to 8,896.88.
