Qatar Exchange index lost 33.94 points (0.40%) during this week to close at 8,362.59 points when trading adjourned for the weekend Thursday. The trading value increased by 14.71% during this week to reach QR 1,274,172,807.16 compared to QR 1,110,783,716.08. The trading volume increased by 40.95% to reach 30,928,293 shares compared to 21,943,233 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 22.66%, to reach 17,324 transactions compared to 14,124 transactions last week. The market capitalization fell by 0.18% to reach QR 439,668,727,956.83 as compared to QR 440,475,721,896.36 at the end of previous week. From the 42 listed companies 17 ended this week higher while 23 fell and two remained unchanged. Masraf Al Rayan led trading value during this week with 22.85% of the total trading value. Industries Qatar came next with 15.04% followed by Qatar National Bank with 11.33%. Banking and financial sector led the trading value during this week, accounting for 52.85% of the total trading value. Services sector came next with 28.07% followed by industrial sector with 16.70% and insurance sector accounted for 2.39%. Banking and financial sector led the trading volume during this week, accounting for 53.34% of the total traded volume. Services sector came next with 36.78% followed by industrial sector with 8.30% and Insurance sector accounted for 1.58%. Services sector led the number of traded transactions during this week with 41.08% of the total number of transactions. Banking and financial sector came next with 40.63% followed by industrial sector with 14.06% and insurance sector accounted for 4.23%
