Madrid\'s stock market plunged 3.0 percent in mid-afternoon trading on Monday amid signs that Europe\'s debt crisis may be spreading to Italy. The IBEX-35 index of key shares tumbled to 9,640.50 points at 3:46pm (1346 GMT). Worst-hit were banking stocks, with Santander dropping 3.42 percent to 7.30 euros and its main competitor BBVA falling 4.19 percent to 7.20 euros. Eurozone finance ministers were due to meet on Monday to discuss Europe\'s broadening problems, as Italy faced higher borrowing costs amid concerns that it could face a Greek-style debt crisis.
