The euro fell slightly against U.S. dollar and Japanese yen on Monday in Tokyo after buying on hopes for the new Italian government. At 5 p.m., the euro fetched 1.3736-3738 U.S. dollar and 105.89- 93 yen compared with 1.3785-3786 dollar and 106.36-37 yen on Monday morning and 1.3623-3624 dollar and 105.51-55 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. The U.S. currency was quoted at 77.09-11 yen against 77.45-46 yen late Friday in Tokyo. It moved between 77.06 yen and 77.28 yen during the day, changing hands most frequently at 77.13 yen.
