The International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2017) will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center from Feb. 19 to 23.
The Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) announced that all internal and external areas allotted to the IDEX 2017 and the Naval Defense Exhibition (NAVDEX 2017) have been allocated and rented out to major players in the regional and global defense industry.
The company is organizing the events in cooperation with the UAE Armed Forces.
“We are pleased to receive this overwhelming response from major defense contractors across the world,” said Humaid Matar Al-Dhaheri, acting group CEO of ADNEC.
It demonstrates the level of importance given to the IDEX and the NAVDEX by the global defense industry, he added.
Representatives from governments, armed forces and key military personnel from all over the world are attending the shows, Al-Dhaheri said.
He congratulated the entire ADNEC team for their tireless efforts in organizing the events.
He praised the role of the company’s marketing department for spearheading the ADNEC’s participation in several global pavilions and specialized defense exhibitions worldwide.
Saeed Al-Mansouri, director of IDEX and NAVDEX 2017, said: “Our new strategy to hold a separate, dedicated event for the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX 2017) has opened up much-needed space for exhibitors.”
IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 will significantly benefit from the fully customized 133,000 square meter interior and exterior area available for mega events at ADNEC, he added.
More than 1,200 national, regional and international exhibitors participated in the previous edition of IDEX in 2015. It attracted more than 101,000 visitors and generated deals exceeding AED18.3 billion.
