With the theme ‘Towards Energy Efficiency’ the GCC Cigre Electric Power Conference & Exhibition was held from Nov. 8 to 10 at Hotel Sheraton in Doha. L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) IC showcased its multidimensional EPC capabilities in power infrastructure across the Gulf Countries.
At the exhibition, L&T’s offerings was showcased in a 24 sq.m stall across the domains of power transmission & distribution with specific emphasis on landmark infrastructure projects executed in Qatar and GCC, highlighting its role as a major EPC player.
Ravindran, EVP & Head – PT&D Middle East, Bruno Dubois – Head PT&D Qatar, along with T. Amareswara Rao – Head PT&D Oman, Deepak Nayak – Head PT&D UAE, and other key team members in Qatar, briefed the visitors to the stall, prominent among whom were HE Mohammed Saleh Abdulla Al Sada – Qatar Energy Minister, Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari – President, KAHRAMAA, Ali Said Nasser Al Hadabi – CEO of Oman Electricity Transmission Company, Oman, Eng. Jassem M. Al Nouri – Under Secretary, MEW Kuwait, Engr. Ahmed Nasser Al Nasr – Director – Technical Affairs, KAHRAMAA, officials from the National Grid – KSA, TRANSCO – UAE, Ministry of Energy, UAE, AADC – UAE and Muscat Electricity Distribution Company, Oman.
The team’s presentation and track record thus far won them appreciation from all quarters.
Organized under the patronage of Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh Al-Sada and hosted by the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), GCC Power 2016 brought together policy makers, transmission and distribution industry professionals, technology leaders and delegates across GCC countries.
The three-day conference covered panel discussions, presentations and plenary sessions on energy efficiency. GCC-Cigre was established under the umbrella of the Gulf Co-operative Council in accordance with a recommendation from the GCC Ministers of Electricity & Water during their second meeting held in Kuwait on April 22, 1985 under the patronage and auspices of Gulf Co-operative Council.
