Etisalat, one of the UAE's leading telecommunication operators, and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, NBAD, have partnered to jointly deliver Mobile Cashier, a mobile point of sale, mPOS, solution to businesses across the UAE.
The new solution will enable business customers to accept credit, debit or prepaid card payments efficiently, and mange cash transactions through their mobile phones.
Saleh Al Abdooli, CEO of Etisalat UAE, said, "Etisalat has been a pioneer in the UAE and the region in introducing advanced solutions that address market needs and meet our customer's expectations. The UAE's economic framework is rapidly evolving, requiring businesses to adapt to the changing environment in order to benefit from new opportunities. We are leveraging our power of ICT and global services to equip businesses in the UAE with services and solutions that offer the highest level of flexibility and convenience.
"We are particularly excited to partner NBAD on this significant project, introducing another first to the UAE's technology and telecom sector," he added.
Etisalat deployed Mobile Cashier for the first time at GITEX Technology Week in 2014, the region's most recognised ICT trade event, to support the event as its Smart Experience Partner.
Mobile Cashier service enables merchants to accept payments directly on their mobile phones, securely connected to a card reader via Bluetooth. As well as sending transaction receipts via SMS or email, merchants can print receipts via a portable printer if requested by the customer. A comprehensive and seamlessly integrated reporting module, which is available in several languages, delivers to the merchants a full portfolio of transactional reports, ensuring an efficient reconciliation and settlement process.
Alex Thursby, Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, said, "Today customers demand the convenience of being able to make card payments for all their goods and services. Now businesses will be able to address this demand through the Mobile Cashier service we are delivering together with Etisalat." – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/economics/1395282678891.html
