Pilots and cabin crew of Etihad Airways have visited children receiving care at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.
Dressed in full uniform, they distributed Eid al-Fitr gifts to children in the hospital's paediatric ward. Gifts were purchased using money donated by Etihad Airways' employees at a Ramadan garage sale held at the airline's head office.
The visit is part of the charitable and community initiatives carried out by Etihad Airways Sports and Social Committee during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Khaled Almehairbi, Etihad Airways Senior Vice President Government and Aero-political Affairs, and the Sports and Social Committee Chairman, said, "Children at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City are very close to our hearts and we are delighted to offer them gifts just before Eid al-Fitr."
During the Holy Month, the Sports and Social Committee implemented several sports and community events which raised more than Dh280,000 to support charitable causes both in the United Arab Emirates and around the world.
All events were organised under the theme of ‘Share your blessings this Ramadan' and comprised an Iftar for 10,000 workers at the Saadiyat Accommodation Village, a Ramadan Charity Football Tournament, and tennis and table tennis open days.
