After the astounding success of Oyster school bus in Dammam, Ashok Leyland launched the model in Riyadh this week. This is the third product from Ashok Leyland in six months, the first one being the Falcon 66 seater and 56 seater school bus in Tatweer specification in July 2016, Oyster midi-41 seater school bus in November 2016 and now the Oyster 33 seater staff variant.
Oyster, the 33 seater and 41 seater midi-bus, is powered by durable ‘H’ series engine, reliable six-speed gear box carrying forward time tested aggregates in Falcon series and fitted with high capacity engine-driven AC unit just right for the market.
“We are launching Oyster in a phased manner. Our products are received well in the Kingdom and it is satisfying to see customers coming back for repeat purchases. This stands testimony to our promise for better comfort, safety and higher profitability to our customers,” said Rajive Saharia, president for Global Sales & Distribution, Ashok Leyland, during the event.
The Oyster has been launched after an extensive testing and validation process and it has covered more than 1.5 million kilometers of testing under various duty cycles.
“Ashok Leyland products together with our strong after-sales network is an excellent proposition for our customers,” said Arshad Pathan, Global Marketing head, Western Auto.
Western Auto has tied-up with a renowned service provider to offer 24x7 tow and drop service for its products. This will strengthen Western Auto’s service presence in the Kingdom together with six service centers in Dammam, Jubail, Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu and Jizan.
With Oyster midi-bus in its inventory, Ashok Leyland and Western Auto are optimistic for its growth in the Kingdom.
