The private sector is not banned from importing sugar, said Supply and Internal Trade Minister Mohamed Ali Moselhi.
The ministry is currently providing the market's needs from sugar through the commercial chains and companies, he added during his meeting with members of the sugar committee, which is affiliated with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC).
Moselhi, meanwhile, underlined the need of maintaining cooperation with the ministry in order to provide food commodities at the market.
Chairman of the FEDCOC Ahmed el Wakil, meanwhile, said that the federation will seek within the upcoming period to provide citizens with food commodities in cooperation with the Supply Ministry.
