Jordan and Bulgaria sealed a number of agreements to foster agricultural cooperation, according to the ministry of agriculture. The agreements entail cooperation in forestry, plant quarantine, plant protection, agricultural goods facilitation to the EU through Bulgaria and attracting Bulgarian investments to Jordan. Minister of Agriculture Samir Habashneh on Sunday said following a visit to Bulgaria, that the Jordanian-Bulgarian talks dealt with prospects for supplying Jordan with 800,000 tons of wheat on preferential terms for a period not less than five years, importing barley, corn and fodder from Bulgaria and providing Jordan with 100 deer to be released into nature reserves. It also dealt with establishing a laboratory to examine pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits and another one to study animal diseases, as well as the possibility of developing pastures by providing Jordan with high productivity seeds. During the visit, Habashneh met with the Bulgarian Prime Minister and discussed bilateral ties and invited him to visit Jordan to explore means and ways of boosting cooperation.
