Israeli and Chinese teams are building a large industrial park for water research in Dangguan in southern China, a Chinese official says. The park will be jointly managed by the Israeli company Shirat Enterprises and the Chinese company Dowell, The Jerusalem Post said Thursday. Ten Israeli water technology firms have been recruited to conduct research and development at the future facility, the newspaper said. \"Israeli companies have the most advanced technologies in the world and the purpose is to invite Israeli water companies into China and to explore the market in China,\" Victor Zhao, the Chinese-based director of the Israeli company, told the newspaper. China faces water shortage issues and pollution, Zhao told the paper. Speaking at Watec Israel 2011, the third international conference on Water technologies, renewable energy and environmental control in Tel Aviv Wednesday, Zhao said the Israeli companies will bring in their technology and expertise while Chinese teams will provide the necessary \"platform\" to connect with the Chinese government and customs.
