The Mayor of Southwestern city of Shiraz Ali Reza Pakfetrat and Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Seyed Mahmoud-Reza Sajjadi in a meeting emphasized the need for Iran and Russia to introduce their investment opportunities to each other. The Iranian official noted that Iran including its historical city of Shiraz enjoy excellent potentials for investments in fields of tourism and trade. He called for the exchange of tourists, investors and businessmen between Iran and Russia. The Iranian ambassador to Moscow, for his part, declared Russia as a good destination for Iranian businessmen and tourists, adding that the exchange of businessmen and investors between Shiraz and Moscow can help boost relations between the two countries. Russia and Iran have a long history economic, and socio-political interaction. Tehran-Moscow relations have been growing in diplomatic and commercial fields. Russia and Iran also share common interests in limiting the political influence of the United States on Central Asia. Trade relations between Iran and Russia are growing and vehicle engines, fruits, vegetables, glass, textiles, plastics, chemicals, hand-woven carpet, stone and plaster products are among the main Iranian non-oil goods exported to Russia.
