Trade exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan can reach up to six billion dollars soon, Iranian Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ali Tayyebnia said.
The Iranian minister of economy made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Afghanistan's Minister of Finance Eklil Ahmad Hakimi.
The current 2.5 billion dollars of annual trade exchanges can promote to at least six billion dollars, Tayyebnia said.
He voiced hope for removal of extra tax between Tehran and Kabul, adding that the geographical proximity is an advantage for promotion of trade exchanges between the two nations, according to Iran's (IRNA) News Agency.
In the meantime, Ahmad Hakimi urged on setting a deadline for removal of obstacles on the way of Tehran-Kabul insurance and banking relations.
He called for development of banking and insurance relations in a short period of time and noted the necessity of setting a deadline for removal of obstacles.
