Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr held several meetings on the sidelines of her participation in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, to be held in Washington on October 7-9.
Nasr is leading the Egyptian delegation at the meetings.
Nasr started her activities by meeting Christina Segal-Knowles, Special Assistant to the US President for International Economic Affairs, the Ministry of International Cooperation said on a statement Wednesday.
According to the ministry's statement, the Egyptian minister highlighted the strength of Egyptian-American strategic economic relations and stressed that the economic program adopted by the Egyptian government aims to enhance economy and to improve living conditions of Egyptian people, particularly the needy.
Meanwhile, senior officials at the US administration hailed the Egyptian government's economic program, asserting the confidence of international economic institutions in Egypt's success in achieving the program's objectives.
Nasr also held talks with Senior Advisor to the US Secretary of State David Thorne along with his accompanying delegation.
The two sides touched on the US economic aid program to Egypt. On that score, Nasr underlined the importance of coordination between Egypt and the US in order to get the best use out of the money funded to Egypt's economic program.
Nasr's meetings were attended by Egypt's Ambassador to the US Yasser Reda.
