The governments of Indonesia and the Philippines are going to establish a joint commission as an effort to boost economic cooperation, Indonesian presidential spokesman Teuku Faizasyah said here Friday. The spokesman said that after the establishment of the commission many agreements particularly in economic sector could be followed up by both governments. \"In the near future, there is going to be a joint commission. It is expected that the commission can follow up all the agreements already made by the two governments particularly in the economic sector,\" he said at the State Palace. The spokesman said there had been much opportunity of cooperation to be developed by both countries. \"The two countries have a huge potential of building cooperation that can be implemented soon,\" he said. The Indonesian government has strived to expand economic cooperation, particularly with those emerging nations, as an effort to diversify its export destination countries. So far, Indonesia has been able to boost exports to emerging Asia, decreasing risks of exports decline at its traditional market of the United States and Europe following the debt crisis in the territory.
