Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) has dismissed reports claiming that some importers got benefit from a temporary decision exempting imported poultry from customs duties from November 10 till now.
In an IDSC report, the center said 31 shipments of imported frozen poultry, weighing 4,178 tons, arrived in the country through all customs outlets during this period.
Their customs fees have already been paid in full and were transferred to the state budget resources, with the exception of shipments imported by the state-owned holding companies that are exempted from customs duties under Law No. 186 of 1986, the report added.
Also, six shipments, weighing 682 tons, arrived in the country from November 22 to December 4, the report said.
Customs duties for some of those shipments have already been paid, while the rest are still under examination, it added.
IDSC urged any entity or citizen that own information that any importer got customs exemptions during the period in question to submit documents in this regard to the Customs Authority
