Germany's unemployment rate held at a record low of 6% in November, as hiring continued to pick up in Europe's biggest economy.
The number out of work in seasonally adjusted terms during November fell by 5,000 this month to 2.658 million, the Federal Labour Agency said on Wednesday. "The labour market has also developed favourably in November," said agency chief Frank-Juergen Weise, adding that demand for new workers remained at a high level.
In unadjusted terms, jobless numbers fell 8,000 to 2.53 million in November, the labour agency said. This resulted in the unadjusted unemployment rate slipping from 5.8% in October to 5.7% in November.
