The US Ambassador to Bahrain William Roebuck stressed contribution of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Bahrain and the USA, which became effective in 2006, to boosting trade and investment between the two friendly countries. He expressed hope the agreement would continue its tangible role in promoting the trade and investment momentum between both countries in the next years.
The US ambassador was speaking in press statements given on the sidelines of his participation in the annual regional forum of the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC) in the Middle East and North Africa. He note the possibility to dedicate FTA in the upcoming period to backing small and medium institutions and enhancing their participation in the Bahraini and US economies. He pointed out flexible performance of the small institutions and their ability to create good job opportunities for national competencies.
The US ambassador emphasised the efforts made by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and USCC, within the framework of FTA, in ensuring communication between businessmen from both countries. He expressed hope for more cooperation to include new industries in the long and short run.
