Costa Rica would like to benefit from the expertise of the Emirati companies across critical departments and sectors which are of interest to his country’s economy, Luis Guillermo Solis Rivera, President of the Republic of Costa Rica, has emphasised.
The next phase in the relations between Costa Rica and the UAE would witness the strengthening of co-operation between the two, and the establishment of joint investments, including activities, between their private companies and institutes, Rivera said.
Costa Rica hoped to sign several economic and investment co-operation agreements with the UAE to achieve their common goals, he revealed.
President Rivera met with Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, First Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, several other chamber directors, and Mohamed Helal Al Muhairi, the Director-General of Abu Dhabi Chamber.
The president has invited the chairman and the directors of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to visit his country and take a close look at the investment climate there.
Al Rmaithi assured Rivera that economic and investment co-operation between the two countries was possible, and promised him that no efforts would be spared to intensify the exchange of commerce between the two countries. He offered every support to Costa Rican companies, especially those working in the fields of industrial and renewable energy, besides other fields of common interest. Costa Rican companies will also be encouraged to invest in Abu Dhabi, especially in those sectors that are of economic importance to the government.
He pointed out that Abu Dhabi had become a hub for companies, institutions and investors, especially international companies, with many planning to start regional offices and centres in Abu Dhabi to gain entry into its local markets, and benefit from the facilities and services provided by the authorities concerned. As of now, Abu Dhabi is considered the most attractive investment destination in the region.
