President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi has discussed in his residence in the U.S. capital Washington with Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, the cooperation between Yemen and the Fund . In the meeting, the president pointed out that he personally fellow up the talks with the Fund on developing of the integrated economic reform program ,noting in this regard that the government has approved a number of the Fund’s recommendations. He called on the IMF to strengthen the existing partnership with the Yemeni government through increasing the technical assistance and sending experts to support the reforms matrix , topped by the revenues system reform. For her part, the IMF’s Executive Director praised the economic and financial reforms adopted by the Yemeni government, calling on the donor countries to fulfill its pledges approved during the meetings of Friends of Yemen and donors, which amounted to about $ 8 billion. \"Yemen has made remarkable progress towards the macroeconomic stability and the completion of the political transition in difficult circumstances\", Lagarde said. She confirmed that the Fund will remain a supporter to Yemen in the needed fields until the end of the political transition stage.
