Hundreds of UAE youth volunteers participating in the "UAE Ambassadors for Community Volunteering," organised by the Zayed Giving Initiative, have taken part in many voluntary activities related to education, health, the community and culture in Africa.
Their voluntary efforts have eased the suffering of children and elderly people in Somalia, Sudan, Zanzibar and Egypt.
Dr. Adel Al Shameri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative and Chairman of the UAE Ambassadors for Community Volunteering, stated that the UAE’s youth have presented an exceptional example, to be followed both locally and internationally, in voluntary work and humanitarian giving.
He pointed out that the "One Million Acts of Kindness" campaign has managed to attract the nation’s youth, and has trained and enabled them to participate in voluntary programmes in various educational, health and cultural areas, both locally and internationally, to strengthen the spirit of volunteering and benefit from their efforts to answer the needs of communities, to continue the journey of giving of the country’s wise leadership, and in harmony with the foundations that were established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Al Anoud Al Ajmi, Executive Director of the Emirates Volunteering Centre, stressed that the culture of giving is established in the children of "Zayed the Giving," which is reflected in their competitiveness in the field of humanitarian work and their participation in important voluntary and humanitarian initiatives in the areas of health, education, culture and the community.
