Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy has met with Matthias Machnig, Germany's State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to discuss boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The meeting, organised by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in cooperation with Masdar, was held on the sidelines of Chancellor Angela Merkel's visit to the UAE.
Open discussions on investment opportunities across various sectors, most notably in renewable energy, infrastructure, banking services and logistics, as well as investment opportunities for Dubai Expo Expo 2020, were held between various government and private sector representatives from both sides.
Suhail Al Mazrouei emphasised the UAE's keenness to strengthen economic and trade relations with Germany, as the two sides are major centres in the international trade and business arena. The Minister added that the strong bilateral ties between the two nations form a solid basis for holding promising investment partnerships in various sectors and fields.
The volume of non-oil trade between the UAE and Germany reached approximately US$8.9 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2016, with Germany ranking fourth among exporting countries to the UAE
