Iron and steel are a strategic industry that its production should be raised to fulfill the needs of the Egyptian market, Investment Minister Ashraf Salman said.
The iron and steel industry should be given special attention in light of the government's social and economic program, Salman said.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Planning Minister Ashraf el Araby and heads of state-owned companies working in steel, and spinning and weaving.
