President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi
Cairo - MENA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened Monday 19 projects involving roads, bridges and services, which were supervised by the Armed Forces' Engineering Authority.
The projects, which also include tunnels and the Mosque of Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, cost 3.5 billion pounds.
Following opening these projects, Sisi hailed the accuracy of implementing the projects.
He also hailed the efficient and swift implementation of these mega projects.
The projects will contribute to pushing forward the wheel of progress and development in Egypt and will work on alleviating the suffering of citizens, he added.
Through the video conference, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened several bridges, including bridge of Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi and bridge of lieutenant general Mohamed Fawzi in Qatamia in the suburbs of Cairo.
He also opened the bridge of martyr Mohamed Harmi on Ismalia road along with several other bridges in different areas.
He also opened through video conference the Mosque of Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi in the Fifth Settlement, New Cairo.
The Mosque can accommodate over 3,000 worshipers and includes seven halls.
During a celebration attended by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab along with a host of senior state officials and ministers, Head of the Armed Forces' Engineering Authority Major General Emad el Alfy said that a host of projects were inaugurated today, adding that these projects add to the development of the country.
The Armed Forces have fulfilled their promises toward the Egyptian people, he added.
The authority's efforts along with other companies have cooperated to implement 1,350 projects since August 2012, he said, adding that 558 projects were implemented, including 62 projects in the fields of transport and 42 bridges and a maritime port.
Also, about 83 projects for healthcare were implemented in 22 governorates, he added.
As many as 792 projects are being implemented, he said, adding that 282 of the projects are scheduled to be opened in August.
The authority was assigned to implement and supervise three mega projects, including the New Suez Canal Project and the development of its surrounding area and the strategic road network project, he said, noting that the third project includes the reclamation of one million feddans.
Efforts are underway to establish 12 hospitals and renovate 20 others, he said, adding that several service projects will be carried out in the various governorates.
At the end of the celebration, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi extended thanks, via videoconference, to the Armed Forces and the other companies for the swift implementation of these projects.
He also thanked the cabinet and the various ministries for the support and confidence in the Armed Forces to implement the projects.
