Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi met on Thursday with Spanish Minister of Economy and Competitiveness Luis de Guindos in the Spanish capital of Madrid.
They discussed ways of bolstering economic ties between the two states, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
De Guindos reiterated his country's keenness to pump investments in Egypt during the coming period following the recovery of the Spanish economy in the past three months.
"Spain sees Egypt a key factor in the Middle East stability due to the promising investment opportunities available in it," Youssef said.
President Abdel Fattah al sisi met also with a host of Spanish businessmen as the two sides tackled ways of boosting economic ties between the two states, the spokesman said.
The businessmen, for their part, expressed keenness to invest in Egypt during the coming period. They talked about the problems facing them in Egypt, but President Sisi promised them to solve all hardships.
A number of deals were signed on the sidelines of Sisi's visit to Spain that covered the fields of infrastructure, transportation, tourism and security, the spokesman concluded.
