With the aim of consolidating social solidarity among the Syrian people, many charity initiatives have been launched deriving their ideas from the crisis and its repercussion on society.
“Sahm al-Khir” charity initiative was organized by industrialist Mu’ataz Marwan al-Haffar in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism.
The initiative aims to provide food, clothes and entertainment to about 320 children who lost their parents in the latest events so as to redraw a smile on their faces.
Other activities include taking children on tours to some of the tourist sites in Damascus such as the Military Museum and Tekkia Sulaymaniyah.
Fast-breaking “Iftar” banquets are also being held at restaurants.
Al-Haffar said “The initiative comes to try to pay for the great support provided to us by the homeland throughout our life.”
He called upon all the industrialists and merchants to support the Syrian people to be able to face the crisis which has affected all aspects of the citizen’s life.
