Preparations are underway to deliver a plot of land in Beheira to a Saudi investor to build a factory to recycle rice straw into pulp, Governor Mostafa Hadhoud said.
In statements Monday, Hadhoud said the factory will be the first ever in the Middle East to use eco-friendly technology.
The project is expected to cost half a million Egyptian pounds, he said.
Located in the industrial zone of Rosetta, the land, 100 feddans, is being measured by a specialized committee and its usufruct contract is being drafted, he added.
