HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani met with the Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs Marie-Gabrielle and her accompanying delegation.
During the meeting they reviewed relations between the two countries and aspects of bilateral cooperation specially in economic and investment fields and ways to develop them. They also reviewed means of bolstering trade relations between the two sides and ways to increase Qatari exports to the Swiss market through the encouragement of chambers of commerce and the private sector in the two countries to strengthen partnership between them and to exchange visits to achieve common interests.
The State of Qatar and the Swiss Confederation are bound by economic, trade and investment relations as well as a number of economic agreements such as an agreement on the encouragement and protections of mutual investments singed in 2001. Trade exchange between the countries in 2013 reached about QAR 3.5 billion.
