Qatar will soon start the implementation of reconstruction projects worth $250mn in Gaza Strip, Prime Minister of the defunct Palestinian government Ismail Haniyeh announced. He also noted that other projects for the Islamic Development Bank, based in Jeddah, will also be implemented in Gaza soon. In press statements during a graduation ceremony in the College of Applied Sciences in Gaza, Haniyeh said that the major reconstruction projects will be in the education and infrastructure sectors. Qatar had announced the contribution of $250mn to a fund for the reconstruction of Gaza during the Gaza emergency summit, which was held in Doha in 2009.
