US Secretary of State, John Kerry, announced that Qatar has agreed to provide $150 million in debt relief to the Palestinian Authority. This announcement was made following talks with Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled al-Attiyah in Paris. Regarding the Syrian issue, Kerry said during the conference, \"Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has remained in power due to the support of Hezbollah and Iran.\" Adding that, Syria crisis can\'t be resolved with military strike and that a political solution is the only right way out for the Syrian crisis. Kerry said that the specific date for the Geneva 2 Conference is still undetermined. He continued, \"During the Geneva 1 conference, a transitional government has been agreed to be formed and would be implemented in the Geneva 2 conference.\" Regarding Iran\'s role in the conference, he said \"it is hard to see how Iran could play a constructive role in planned talks in Geneva without supporting plans for a transitional government in Syria.\" He added that Iran had already not supported the implementation of a first round of talks in Geneva.
