A probe panel, ordered to be set up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to investigate the collapse of part of the ceiling of Enma Mall, Riffa, convened today under the chairmanship of Works Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf.
The committee studied all technical aspects related to the incident and their conformity with international standards in preparation for a comprehensive report to be submitted to HRH the Crown Prince, Works Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services and Acting Undersecretary Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayat said. He added that a thorough study of the incident had been conducted during the committee's meeting, pointing out that the role of the Works Ministry will be purely technical. He also noted that the committee will rely in its work on the experience of specialists from the Works Ministry to submit a technical report on the materials used in making the collapsed parts and reviewing maps used in the construction process of the mall.
The final report is likely to be submitted to HRH the Crown Prince next week, Mr. Al Khayat said, pointing out that the Works Ministry will do its best to do the work assigned with it.
