Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held a meeting on Saturday to discuss ways of implementing the project of reclaiming one million feddans within a year.
The project is part of a bigger one which aims at cultivating four million feddans nationwide.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of agriculture, water resources and irrigation and petroleum.
During the meeting, Agriculture Minister Adel al-Beltagy reviewed the ministry’s efforts to determine the lands which are suitable for cultivation.
Meanwhile, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi reviewed his ministry’s vision on the sources of water required for the reclamation process.
