The Permanent Committee on Lands
Sharjah - WAM

The Permanent Committee on Lands Allocation in Sharjah approved 386 applications for new residential plots, while a total of 23 applications were declined as they failed to meet the conditions.
The committee’s first meeting, was attended by Dr. Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Planning and Surveying Department. Chaired by Waleed bin Falah Al Mansouri, the attendees reviewed and discussed several topics of interest to citizens, including the land allocation, co-ordination between the committee and municipal councils, speeding up the allocation of lands and the application process for housing, commercial, industrial and investment plots, as well as conformity to the committee’s requirements on the allocation of land.
Al Mansouri said that the meeting tackled the required criteria for obtaining residential plot. If the applicant is married and has a family, the allocation shall be prioritised based on the number of children, the age of the applicant and the date of submission. He stated that in case applications were rejected, the applicant would be informed about the reasons for the rejection.
He added that the meeting also discussed the emirate’s housing plan, which was approved by the Planning and Survey Department, to allocate residential plots for its eligible citizens.
Al Mansouri noted that the adoption of the land allocation policy is as per the directives of the Sharjah Ruler, to grant local citizens residential and investment plots to raise their standard of living and diversify their sources of income, providing them with a decent life.
