A ten-truck aid convoy laden with supplies donated by government institutions and private organisations left for the Gaza Strip on Saturday, the latest Jordanian relief shipment to ease the plight of Palestinians in the Israeli-blockaded territory.
Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation Secretary General, Ayman Mifleh, said such aid convoys had been periodically dispatched to Gazans since Israel's 50-day devastating war against the coastal enclave in July and August.
President of the Higher Council for Youth Sami Majali said the council had launched the aid campaign in cooperation with youth centres and sports clubs in the governorates to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians.
The aid convoy was sent in coordination with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA).
