Caretaker Tunisian President Fouad Al Mebazaa has received UAE Foreign Trade Minister Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi at the conclusion of her visit to Tunisia, heading high profile trade and investment delegation. During the meeting the Tunisian President and UAE Foreign Trade Minister Sheikha Lubna discussed the bilateral relations and ways to boost them, especially in the trade and investment areas. The two sides also tackled the results of the UAE delegation’s visit to Tunisia. She noted that UAE investors are willing to give a boost to the Tunisia’s projects and tap the investment opportunities to expand the presence of United Arab Emirate’s investments in Tunisia. MoFt also said that trade relations between the UAE and Tunisia saw significant growth over the past few years. In 2010, non-oil trase exchange between the two countries grew by 69 per cent to reach $153 million, compared to 90 million in 2009. MoFT added that the visit of United Arab Emirates delegation reflects the leadership’s keenness to further develop relations with the Tunisian people. For his part, the Tunisian President stressed keenness of his country to boost co-operation with the UAE in the best interest of the two peoples. From/ Gulf Today
