Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs will head Kuwait's delegation to the 93rd ministerial meeting of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) and the Tenth Arab Energy Conference, to kick off next Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
In a press statement sent to KUNA, the Ministry of Oil said that the Kuwaiti delegation will include Kuwait's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Petroleum Media, Kuwait's Representative at the OAPEC's Executive Office Sheikh Talal Nasser Al-Ezabi Al-Sabah, and several Oil Ministry and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation officials.
He pointed out that the OAPEC ministers would review and take decisions about that the recommendations referred to them by the organization's Executive Office.
They will discuss the organization's budget for 2015 and they review the report about its performance in 2014.
The minister will also attend and deliver a speech at the Tenth Arab Energy Conference organized by OAPEC in coincidence with the ministerial meeting.
The conference, to be themed 'Energy and Arab Cooperation', will mull the implications of the developments on oil and gas markets on Arab energy sector.
The conferees will also discuss investment requirements to develop the energy sector in Arab countries; energy, environment, and sustainable development; energy resources; energy consumption and conservation in Arab countries; Arab electricity interconnection; and technological developments and their implications for energy sector.
The three-day event is sponsored by OAPEC, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO).
Fifteen research papers will be presented during the conference in four technical sessions on the following topics: Arab and Global Energy Resources: Reality and Expectations; Consumption and Conservation of Energy in the Arab Countries; Arab Electricity Interconnection; and Technological Developments and their Implications for Energy Sector.
