Khartoum is due to host from 15-16 September a workshop on the modern technological aspects of Metrology, which will be organized by the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Corporation in collaboration with the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa under auspices of the First Vice President of the Republic Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih.
This was announced, to SUNA, by the Director of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Corporation Awad Sakrab, pointing out that the workshop was part of the recommendations of the twelfth meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Industrial Research Centres and Institutions in the Arab countries.
He added that the workshop aimed to achieve a number of goals including work to improve the experience and efficiency of Arab human resources in research institutions and measurement science along raising ability of the Arab industrial products for export and competition besides consolidation of integration among the metrological institutions in the fields of industry and technology.
Sakrab added that the workshop would discuss a range of issues in the field of scientific axes in technology and the science of measurement, which will be covered by a group of highly-efficient researchers and experts.
He explained that the workshop would address three axes including the role of scientific and industrial metrology in achieving competitiveness of industrial facilities, innovation in development of measurement science in the Arab countries and integration between nano-metrology and nanotechnology in promotion of science and technology.
