Technovaa Packaging Industries Ltd., the industrial arm of DARVESH and one of the leading paper products/plastic film producers in the region, is to set up a new manufacturing facility at the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), with an initial investment of AED 250 million, Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has announced in a statement.
A ground-breaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of the Technovaa Packaging Industries Ltd. site which will occupy an area of more than 35,000 sq. meters in Kizad’s KP4.

Kizad’s comprehensive intermodal transportation network and close proximity to Khalifa Port with market access to more than 4.5 billion potential customers and business partners worldwide will not only offer Technovaa enhanced supply chain efficiencies, but guarantee smooth, time and cost effective import and export activities," said Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, ADPC, and Chairman, Board of Directors, Kizad.
Hassan Suleman Darvesh, Chairman of DARVESH, added, "Our new branch location provides unprecedented market access, especially through Khalifa Port, which will enable us to expand our export capacity. Our plan is to export 60% of our overall production volume from Kizad to European, Middle East and African markets and cater to the local demand. Furthermore, Kizad’s highly competitive operating cost environment will provide us with an excellent business platform to further improve our full range of services, our competitive pricing strategies, as well as our production and marketing capabilities." Technovaa Industries’ new manufacturing facility in Kizad will be a state of the art facility that will further support their other branches in Dubai and Ras Al Khor.
The company has also made a name for itself outside the U.A.E., with manufacturing facilities for industrial and consumable packaging in other parts of the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
