Construction industry data showed an increase in the cost of labour, iron and diesel fuel in November 2016, even as prices for other vital materials fell.
Statistic Centre, Abu Dhabi, SCAD, has issued a special report detailing prices of construction materials in Abu Dhabi, along with an analysis of changes in prices in November 2016, compared to October 2016 and November 2015.
The report pointed to a rise in construction costs, including a 7.6% increase in the cost of iron, 4.5% for labor, and a jump in diesel fuel costs of 8.5% in November 2016, compared to October 2015.
At the same time, the average price of UPVC piping decreased by 1.2%, and wood fell by 1.0% in November 2016, compared to the previous month.
Further, prices of bricks increased in November 2016 by 13.8%, iron decreased by 13.7%, and glass fell 9.2%, compared to November 2015.
Moreover, the cost of labor was down 18.3%, dyes and wood prices by 16.0% and 10.6%, respectively, in November 2016 compared to November 2015.
