A group of Kuwaiti volunteers working on behalf of Al-Rahma International Charity, an affiliate of Al-Eslah Society (Islamic Society for Social Reform) in Kuwait, distributed relief aid to about 130 Syrian refugee families, a spokesperson for the volunteers said on Friday.
Up to 14 Kuwaiti volunteers took part today in the relief aid distribution to these families, said Abdullah Al-Anbaei, the spokesperson, in a statement to KUNA. The 130 families are part of a total of 628 families the volunteers will be helping out in days to come, he said, noting that the relief aid cost about USD 171,000.
The work of the Kuwaiti volunteers in Jordan is carried out through an existing office of the Al-Rahma Charity, said the office supervisor Basil Shahada who stressed that the Charity was involved in a multitude of charitable functions in Jordan for the expressed benefit of Syrian refugees there.
For instance, the Charity and its subsidiaries in Jordan are in charge of building schools, orphanages, and centers for training the refugees to enter the job market in Jordan, he said.
