Members of the parliamentary finance and economy committee discussed Sunday key strategic development projects like the second North Zour power station, and Khairan station for electricity and water destillation.
Rapporteur MP Mohammad Al-Jabri said in a statement to the press after the meeting committee members also discussed amendments to a law regarding establishment of Kuwaiti shareholding companies, tasked with building power and water desalination stations.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Electricity and Water Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim, and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and Minister of State for Development and Planning Hind Al-Sabeeh.
Al-Jabri said they reviewed with the ministers 40 projects to be implemented in the 2015-16 plan, with a total value of KD 8.975 billion (USD 30.665 billion).
He said the committee members acknowledged the determination of the ministers in the implementation of the development plan, citing the formation of a government committee tasked with following the execution of these ventures.
