Inflation rates in Kuwait went up by 5.4 percent in May on an annual basis compared to 0.3 percent in April on a monthly basis, official figures revealed today. The monthly report of the Central Statistics Administration (CSA) showed that the record figure for May was 147.4 points, and foodstuff in May edged up by 11.7 percent compared to the same period in 2010, Sugar rose by 0.1 percent, tea and coffee by 1.2 percent, milk and eggs by 1.2 percent, oil by 0.5 percent, meat and fish by 3.3 percent, and legumes and bread by one percent, while fruit and vegetables went down by 0.4 percent, the report added.
