His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met with head of the higher organizing committee of the Gulf Family Business Forum (GFBF2014) Yousef Khaled Al-Marzouq at Bayan Palace on Tuesday.
His Highness the Amir lauded efforts made by the Gulf countries to accomplish common hopes and aspirations in many economic domains.
Al-Marzouq, who was accompanied by some participants in the fourm, expressed his appreciation to His Highness the Amir's sponsorship and support in many developmental projects across the Gulf region, especially those handled by the private sector.
He added that the event provides a great opportunity to discuss various realms in economic cooperation among the GCC countries.
On his part, First Vice President of the Federation of the GCC Chambers Abdulrahman Al-Otaishan said that around 420 gulf family business exist in the Gulf region, forming 80 percent of the GCC countries capital. He added that this number has an undeniably great impact on enhancing the region's economy.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti businessman Jawad Bukhamseen called for setting up laws for family business that cannot be effected by any disputes or disagreements.
Saudi Businessman Zohair Al-Sarraj also encouraged enhancing the role of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to achieve an economic and trade vision in the Arab World
