Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj said here on Wednesday the GCC member states have made much headway in wiping out obstacles impeding joint trade and industrial cooperation.
Speaking to reporters following the conclusion of the 39th meeting of GCC ministers of industry in Riyadh, the minister said: "The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have made much progress in removing hurdles impeding joint trade and industrial cooperation." He hailed the positive outcomes of the meeting as conducive to a further promotion and development of Gulf integration.
The conferees discussed a set of significant issues and matters, primarily trademarks, a single audit bureau, economic guidelines and dumping, he added.
On the industrial meeting, the minister said several relevant matters such as joint ventures in the private sector were considered.
Regarding a joint Gulf market, the Kuwaiti minister said this topic was still subject to further discussions and deliberations on part of GCC specialized committees.
