Kuwait , both its public and private sectors, will show a strong participation in the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), which will start Friday in Egypt’s resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt’s Ambassador here Abdel Karim Soliman said.
A delegation of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), led by its chairman Ali Ghanem, who himself is one of the largest businessmen in Kuwait, will attend the three-day conference along with KCCI non-members, Soliman told MENA correspondent here.
Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah will also be leading an official high-level delegation to the Egyptian gathering, comprising the state’s economic arms: the Kuwait Investment Authority and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Egyptian envoy said.
Large Kuwaiti families, very well-known in the economic community circle and own the biggest businesses inside and outside the country , will also be attending EEDC, including al Ghanem, al Kharafi, al Sayer, al Shayea, Bu Khamsin and al Saqr families, he added.
Kuwait, with its state and private sector participants, will have the largest delegation in the conference, he expected.
