The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Friday delivered urgent aid to 500 Syrian families in Jordan's Red Sea port of Aqaba, in cooperation with the Jordanian Red Crescent.
The aid campaign aims to alleviate sufferings of the Syrian refugees amid the severe weather conditions in the region.
This aid is part of a support program by the Kuwaiti people to help Syrian refugees in Jordan, head of KRCS field team Abdullah Al-Nasser said. It includes foodstuff, medical supplies and blankets.
The aid program is being carried out at the behest of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to show solidarity with the Syrian people and to alleviate their sufferings amid the freezing conditions in the region, he said.
Al-Nasser stressed the rapid positive response by the KRCS which hurried to offer humanitarian aid to the refugees in the Kingdom. He also said that aid would continue to refugees elsewhere in the Kingdom.
